I'm new around here, I bought a 96 trophy with around 6500 miles on it. I love the bike but I have never had a bike with a hydraulic clutch before. It seems to grab a little farthet than I would expect and I was looking for a ball park life span of a clutch for this bike,or might there be a simple adjustment? The fluid looks to be correct. but I was just woundering?

ok first of all anybody here will tell you these clutches in these bikes are built pretty good and the life span if used without any abusive use will last well over 20000 miles and the travel on this type of clutch is at the top of the lever travel cable types are more closer to the grips but not as smooth

Just a thought..is the lever adjustable for "reach"? My 02 has 4 settings on the lever to compensate for the size of one's hand. If you haven't checked it out, that might be a help to you.

Shredds,

Did you mean 200,000 miles on the clutch? Because 20,000 miles is way too low for a clutch to need replacing. I'm new to Triumph but the clutch on my Concours was still perfect at 102,000 when I sold her.

Don,

The clutch on my Sprint Executive 900 is the same as the clutch on your Trophy. At 65,000+ miles my clutch shows no signs of wear. I suggest you do a fluid change to keep things smooth.
