Hey there. I'm thinking of getting into something larger/heavier/more tour-oriented than my current 03 Bonneville T-100. I've been intrigued for some time about the Trophy, and although it has been discontinued my local dealer has a 03 1200 Graphite in stock. Anyone have any ideas on what my Bonneville with 2k miles on it ( own outright ) should bring on trade at a dealer and what would be a decent deal on the Trophy? Your thoughts are appreciated!

MSRP on my '02 Trophy was $11900. with $500. worth of Triumph swag thrown in, I don't know if the $500 worth of accessories is still in effect but I'd bring it up.

As for your trade in value I'd look at what you paid for it, milage and condition and then then figure $1000 off that for trade in, (not retail) and go from there.

Remember a horse-trade works both ways, he can come up on your trade in or down from his asking price, you just have to be reasonable and don't expect him to give away the farm. Work a deal that gives you a break while still allowing him some profit and ride home laughing on your new Trophy. :-g

If your dealer still has a 2003, he's choking on it. The free plan period is up. Put the Bonneville on eBay with a $6500 starting bid and offer the dealer $9,000 and walk away if he does not take it. I bought a 2001 in 2003 for $7K.

Bedford - You paid only 7k and got it? WOW, I paid 8.5K for mine and they would not give the $500 accessory allowance. Man I got ripped.

Appreciate the feedback. I was thinking that 9500-10000 range would be fair on the Trophy. Don't have a lot of spare time on my hands, but I think you're right. The smartest thing to do is sell the Bonnie on Ebay and then scout around for a deal on a leftover 03 Trophy...
