I just purchased a 98 trophy 900. I am looking for backrest options for a passenger at the most reasonable cost. I do not have the optional rack. The cost of the rack, top box, and passenger backrest pad is far too much. The cost of Corbin with backrest also too high. I want to get a simple top box from Kappa/Givi but they do not make a rack..Any other options for rack aftermarket or backrest???Thanks for any input.

I think you going to have to buy a genuine Triumph rack and then maybe fit a Givi adapter plate to it ( the plate costs £25 over here ), you might get the bits you need 2nd hand off ebay.

I think Andy's right, you'll have to spring for the luggage rack at least. Then it's just a case of find a box, (Givi would be my aftermarket choice) buy the adapter if available, break out the drill if not and line up the holes.

The Triumph set up. though spendy is really nice, color-matched and it looks/fits right on the bike. I just bit the bullet and put it on my visa :lollol:

A rear rack would be needed, but JCWhitney carries a trunk with a padded backrest, for a really decent price. Quality, as is anything from JCWhitney, is average, though. Nothing spectacular, but not so cheap it'll fall apart.

I've just ordered myself a Givi adapter plate and I'll pickup a used Givi box from ebay sometime.
Jill ( wifey ) likes to have some kind of lower back support when she rides as pillion ( must be due to the sheer brute force of the BBBB ) and I've been bungee'ing a rucksack on to make do thus far.

I thought you'd gotten the Triumph trunk awhile back?

I put my trunk back on for the summer, I leave it off all winter because I'm usually by myself, but when the weather warms up my wife or daughter(s) want to go and they feel better with a back rest.

I just bought my wife a new Shoei RF1000 and some gloves for our anniversery, Romantic devil aren't I? :lollol: :lollol: :lollol:

Don't suppose the helmet and gloves were unfortunatly the wrong size for your wife ................. but luckily just happened to fit your good self :-D :-D

I didn't buy the Triumph top box as mentioned before, the sale fell through in the end.
