It's time for my first set of tires on the Trophy! Sounds easy right? The tires on my bike are front-120-60-17 and rear 180-55-17. Neither of them are the stock size! Any reason the PO went to different sizes? The tires are Metzler ME4. Let me know what the world says! Any better lasting tire out there?callen@delano2.com

As you know the stock tires are 120/70ZR17 & 170/60ZR17, My guess would be either the previous owner got a good price, or they were the only sizes he could find at the time, or he thought bigger tires would work better.

I'd go back to a Dunlop D220, Bridgestone BT010/ 020 or Michelin Pilot Road in the stock size if it was my bike. Any of those will give you a good combination of milage and traction.

Hi brgtrophy

I have just put on Metzeler ME 880 170/60 on the rear and MEZ4 Metzeler in 120/70 on the front. I think this set is going to last a lot better than the Bridgestone 020's lasted (3600 miles)

I hope this helps.

Hello again,
I got a decent price at sporttour.com on the the new Metzler Z6's in the stock size. I will put them on tonight and report how they work out. Pirelli is also giving away a promo front tire with the purchase of a rear. I think this is only for the Diablo tire. Just wanted to spread the word. Thanks for the help!
