Hello, I'm the new owner of a Trophy 1200. I see the chain needs adjusting. I got underneath it last night to adjust it and it looks like I have to loosen and move the exhaust cans to get to the adjuster. The bike did not come with a manual. I have a 12mm allen wrench but can't seem to get it in there due to the silencer. Any help is appreciated.

You have to do it in small bites. Another way is to put the long end in and use an end wrench or something as a handle to break it loose. It should turn easily after that. You do sometimes have to loosen the exhaust to get to the large allen adjuster depending on where it is.

According to the manual one is adjusting from both sides at once with the two 12MM hex supplied in the tool kit. No tool kit came with my 1200 so I needed to get 12MM hex socket, actually two. As it turns out only one is needed to do the adjustment, at least on my bike.

I did loosen the bracket holding the exhaust and very gently jacked it up to give the clearance needed to get the hex head in the slot.
