adjustable fork preload caps available for Trophy
Does anyone know if there are adjustable fork preload caps from another bike that can be put into the stock Trophy forks? I have a '96 1200. I put a Penske on rear, because it was bottoms riding 2-up, now time to fix the forks.

You can swap the forks out for the Daytona 900/1200, SpeedTriple, Sprint Sport of the same era they have fully adjustable 43 mm forks ;-)

trophy forks
Last Spring I replaced my stock .583kg/ ??? spring with Race-Tech straight rate springs 1.00kg/???? did all the static calcs and cut new spacers, also I replaced the light oil with 20w Bel-Ray (over filled by 20cc's per side..........This works great for a 300+ lb middle aged "ton-up" type guy Really

Biggreentrophy,
I'm using the preload adjusters from a Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200 on my "96" Sprint. The Kawasaski forks are 43mm KYBs, and they fit perfectly, you just won't be able to use the rebound adjuster that comes in the Kawasaki forks.

Kaw fork parts?
Nice idea on the caps...How much do they go for? and do you still have a part #? I've got my rear set all the way up for preload as I have a middle aged hazardous waist. With all this kids in college crap I don't see dropping $800 for a new rear any suggestions?

Biggreentrophy,
I got mine off of e-bay, I purchased the whole fork set-up because at the time I could not find the adjusters by them selves, I don't remeber what I paid for them (The forks were bent which made it cheaper). You can still get shocks for the Trophy from Hagon, which is not to badly priced, I have one on my bike and like it quite well. ( www.davequinnmotorcycles.com)

ZRX forks
Does anyone know if I can put ZRX forks on a Trophy? Are the length, diameter, axle holders, axle spacers, caliper lugs etc etc are dimensioned right. That way I could have the superior cartridge forks.

mikurek,
not without doing a bunch of machining and parts swapping, that's why I just went with the caps.

Thanks LaneSplitter, I was afraid that was the case. I bet Daytona 1200 forks are a direct swap, right? And they are adjustable cartridge. Are there any other Triumphs that would be a direct swap for a adjustable cartridge fork?

mikurek:
Sorry man, but haven't been on here much lately. Almost all of the T3 models (Speed Triple, Sprint Sport, Daytona triples and 4's) will fit, they are all 43mm forks (KYB).
