An interesting idea but the 900 triple engine is a stressed member (in its own frame) and is 'underslung' i.e. the engine hangs in the frame with the mountings at the top. A Norton Featherbed frame (if you are planning to go down the whole Triton route) has lower frame tubes which would get in the way of your triple: instead of modifying the tank it would be easier to remove a section of these tubes (and making up some new ones to weld in place) so that the engine would sit lower in the frame. This will lower the c of g, improving the handling, and it will look much better, too.
I have seen plenty of featherbed specials where the engine sits too high: most Vincent powered bikes are a prime example of the 'top heavy' look which spoils the aesthetic appeal.
Finally, you will also need some special engine plates for this engine/frame combination, and the frame itself - not cheap. There is at least one manufacturer of replica Norton frames in the UK - at a price!
