I must be doing something right, I've never gotten one. AVG security must block them.

Links what links....oh wait I'm running Firefox on a Linux machine

Try searching for "intellitxt links" in google, there are many good tutorials on shutting down the link bombs.

I hate them too.

See:

works the treat

Turn off Bing "links" (Pop-up blocker)

Mark 62,

Try this. I use Exployer 8, but prior versions likely work the same way. I think that if you turn on Pop-up Blocker the Bing links will stop. Just be aware that some sites may not let all the features on their site function unless you allow pop-ups. If you run into that, just go back and allow pop-ups while you use that particular site and then turn off again.

Here is how to get to Pop-up Blocker:

Click "Tools" at the top of Explorer
Click "Internet Options"
Click "Privacy" tab
In the middle of the Privacy tab is a little box for Pop-up Blocker. If there is no check mark in the box, click the box to enter a check mark.
Then click "Apply" and OK. Your done.

What is happening that in peoples threads certain words are underlined. When my cursor passes over them a window pops up to give me more info. My pop-up blocker is turned on.

Do This:

It’s very easy to disable this type of advertising in IE and you don’t even have to install any plug-ins or toolbars. All that you need to do is add *.intellitxt.com as a restricted site in the IE options.

It's that simple. Enjoy browsing without all the annoying ad hovers.

This same process also works for Kontera and InfoLinks ads. Just add kona.kontera.com and *.infolinks.com to the restricted sites list and they will be blocked also.

Step by step:

1) Open the IE options.
  • This can be done by using the Tools menu within IE and selecting “Internet Options”, by right-clicking on the IE icon on your desktop or Start menu and selecting “Internet Options”, or by launching “Internet Options” from inside the Windows Control Panel.
2) From the IE Options window, select the Security tab
3) From within the security tab, click on the “Restricted sites” icon and then click the [Sites] button right below it.
4) A list box window will pop up. In the “Add this website to the zone:” filed type in *.intellitxt.com then click the [Add] button

And it will stop with the annoying text.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
That worked.
What can I do about iexplore.exe being listed 4 times in my task manager and spiking my CPU usage? I know it is some kind of virus or malware ,but my security program isn't stopping it.

There's a dozen plus good answers.....

What windows are you running?? Xp, vista??

You can download and install Windows Defender, I've good luck using it to clean and sanitize several clients computers.

Spybot search&Destroy is good too, but more hands on.

I'm sure other folk will chime in with their suggestions as well. But I sincerely suggest you try Windows Defender first.

I am running XP.
The defender download showed nothing wrong. In the task mgr, applications section, there are several "iexplore" taking up cpu. I can't delete them!

IntellitTxt advertising

If you click on the User Control Panel on the Home Page menu and click on Edit Profile you will see at the bottom of that page:

Disable IntelliTxt Ads

Click on that and Save.

(only just seen this thread as such queries can be answered earlier on the Site Happenings Forum)

We also advise this option on the Main menu FAQ click here
