Rejetting for D&D Exhaust?

I have a 2001 Trohy 1200 and I put on a set of D&D Exhaust. It is backfiring now when I release the throttle. Anybody having this problem. I called D&D and they said that I should not have to rejet. I am thinking differnet though. I like the D&D exhaust but don't want to hurt my Trophy's engine.

Is it popping or really back firing, meaning loud?

I've have read on the twins site that the stock exhaust is so quiet that it could have been popping some before but not noticeable because the stock exhaust is so quiet.

And, you might be able to do some adjustments for improvement without re-jetting.

Others out there might have more knowledge and be more specific.
Anyone?

I had the same problem. my problem was that the clamp would not get tight enough to seal the exhaust so i was sucking in cold air when i got off the throttle making the popping / backfiring. i got some high temp gasket maker/sealer and put it around the pipe before i slid it together and tightened the clamp. wipe away the excess and let it cure. that fixed my problem anyway. so, D&D said you dont have to rejet? i never talked with them, but i was told you do have to. let us know if you get it.

I didn't have to rejet when I used to have D&D's. And yeah, it sounds like you have a leak where the cans meet the head pipes.
