Any 1200 sprag failures?

Going to look at a 1200 Trophy, not sure what year but it's the '96 and newer style. Am quite familiar with the 900 motor and it's issues having put 98,000 miles over 9 years on a Sprint Executive. I basically want to know if the sprag on the 1200 is as weak and prone to failure as the sprag on the 900.

From what I've read in other forums, the main problem with the sprag clutch is a weak battery. A strong one starts the bike quickly and efficiently while a weak one can make it "crank" over more than necessary. I've kept my '02 on a Battery Tender for years now and, "knock on wood", it's been fine.

I am aware of the " keep a strong battery" defense but...when the sprag went south on my Sprint the battery was fine (although she did have 98,000 miles on her).

The question was, have there been any 1200 sprag failures? I've read of many 900 sprag failures, but what about the 1200 engine.

Bump. Still looking at Trophys, 1200s and 900s, but still haven't heard of any sprag failures on the 4 cylinder 1200s. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of a sprag failure on a 1200?

I've been a T3 rider for many years ('00 Thunderbird Sport) and currently own a '00 Trophy 1200 (as well as my Rocket) but.. come to think of it, I've never heard of a 1200 sprag failure, which is interesting, since they are essentially the same motor..
