1999 Trophy 900 for me?

Hi,

I presently ride a Speed Triple and am looking for a winter bike. Came across this bike described as -:

*Brand new tank bag and synthetic oil change* included.
This is a stunning bike - the in-line triple (with an after market high performance exhaust) sounds incredible. It comes complete with two large stock panniers, Michelin Pilot tires, FULL tune-up and fluid changes (including front shocks), leather Corbin seat, extra brake pads, bike cover and is in full working condition with only about 35,000 kilometers on the odometer. The original manual as well as a service manual are included.

I can get the bike for about 5K Canadian dollars. It is in very good to excellent condition and rides well. Are there any issues with this year and/or engine that I should know about?

Cheers

Sounds good but I don't know how the $$ would translate into US currency. Also what is 35,000km in relation to miles? In the US, I would think about $3500 TO 4000 would be a good price. I think you will love the bike.

A little over 20K miles and about 4400 dollars.

Thanks for the conversions.
Maybe a little high but sounds good. They are getting a little harder to find.

I bought a '96 Trophy 900 this past June, rode it a couple of thousand miles till I wrecked it two weeks ago. Loved the bike overall. Sounded terrible with stock pipes though (see other posts for a remedy). I also got a lot of wind buffeting from the stock windshield, but was getting used to that. I rode a borrowed BMW R1200 RT, prior to purchasing the trumpet and that kind of spoiled me comfort wise. Performance and handling was awesome. Hard to find anything bad about the bike, and they seem to be an exceptional value. BTW, I paid $2k American for a private sale. The bike had 53k miles on it when I got it in June. There's a few of them for sale on cycletrader.com in the 3-5K range.

Smile 1999 Trophy 1200 Ontario $5900

I got a 1999 last year with 35000kms on it for $5900. Just north of Toronto so that probably pushed up the price a bit. Bike was like new. They don't make anything like this anymore unless you want to spend $$$$$ on a bmw. I love it and WILL NEVER SELL IT. Went to Thunder Bay on it with wife last month - what a great mile muncher!

We moved here (Vancouver Island)from just north of Toronto (Stouffville) about 14 years ago but have just gotten back into riding for the past 2. We have each put 35 to 40K on ours bikes. Helps to ride year round. Hoping to do some longer trips in the future so even more mileage. We have 2 friends that have put more than 100,000kms on their 1200 Trophys but I was wondering if the 900 engine is as dependable.

We are in Stouffville too! Actually in Altona about a mile east. WE envy your year-round riding ability.
