Took a ride with my son (13 yrs old) this weekend. The beast again ran flawlessly. I checked the oil and it has not moved a milimeter on the stick. With Big Joe on the back, the front wheel wants to jump off the ground any time I throw down the throttle. We both like that.
Fuel economy has dropped to about 33 mpg. But I live high in the rev range and usually leap away from stoplights. Still, my ride home from Nashville was 38mpg. So I'm wondering a bit about that.
This winter I'll be installing a new rear shock and front springs. With Joe and I on the bike we are hauling 360 lbs. I'm leaning towards the Penske w/ remote adjust. I havent' really crawled all over the bike since I bought it so I don't really know if the shock is original. Feels like it is.
It's running great and I've only got a couple of months of riding until ice bumps me off the road. I have had the beast since early July and the Honeymoon just keeps going on.
This forum convinced me to get a Trophy after test riding my friend's. I'm having a helluva time riding it. Looking forward to this winter so I can tinker with it and get to know it intimately. Due for a shim adjustment.
Hell, I'm just rambling. I love this bike.
