Three simple but effective mods

First, I installed the Genmar risers, like so many people have. A real nice addition, especially for my achy wrists. I still wish I could change the grip angle, but it's better.

Second, I added a gelpad from Competition Accessories to my corbin for longer rides. It's a cloth 14"x10", and it does help keep my butt from getting sore. It's real secure also.

Third, I added some of the Saeng edging to my Clearview windshield. I was getting more noise and buffeting over the top than I liked, and this was a simple solution that raised the airflow just enough. I can now ride with my shield partially or fully open, no earplugs. With my Throttlmeister and the vent in my windshield, it's a really nice package.

These bikes are so nice when you get them right.

Is your clearview shield the uber-tall, or normal sized?

My Clearview is the 24", so it's pretty tall. The tallest is 25.5" I believe. I was still getting more noise and buffeting than I liked though. I'm 6'2". The edging only raised the flow about 2", but it was just enough.

I'm not sure how tall mine is ( bought the bike used with it on it ), but it's tall.

And I get a lot of buffeting... but i'm 5'11.

The 2 schools of thought is to go shorter with the screen, or go taller.

It's a shame it's expensive to "just try it out and hope for the best."

I might just do it.

Is the Saeng easily removable? ( If I decide I don't like it, would it be sale-able or rendered wrecked if I remove it?)

The Saeng edging is easily removeable. It's bought by the foot, three feet minimum. I used three feet, just about went around the whole thing. If it doesn't work, you can return it for a refund. They also sell the used stuff, with no refund. I was actually considering buying the tallest shield, but this did the trick.

Storz Performance used to have one for the Trophy - I bought and installed one - but it is no longer cataloged. But maybe if you called them....

I, too, did not like the angle of the bars. At all. And I actually wanted bars a little lower / more aggressive. Installed the adapter, and then could "cheaply" experiment with handlebars (check out flanders bars - pages of different bars' bends).

Cool Genmars in the mist

I had Genmars and the Ubertall Clearview. I finally realized that the combination of these two things was what was screwing my back up.
The Corbin seat didn't help at all. Someone should sue those overpriced bastards.

Basically the sitting position on the Trophy sucks. It's that simple. The pegs are too high, the seat is too far back and the bars are too short. Coming from several BMW's it's a pain. The only things that saves the bike is the engine.

I cured most of the seating problems by getting rid of the Genmars and the tall windshield and buying a clear face screen for my helmet. At speed the airpressure takes most of the weight off my wrists and aleviates the pressure point in the top of my back.
I'm 6'1" 190 Pounds.

An added benefit to getting rid of the Clearview is the high speed handling. We drive a bit quicker here than in the US and at 90-100 MPH the bikes was a menace with the tall screen. It's a missle with the normal one.

There is no cure, or excuse, for the Corbin. It's an overpriced POS, poorly made, ergonomically impossible and very very hard. I hate it -period. First person to give me $100 for it gets it. I paid close to $300 a year ago.

Managed to sell the Genmars on Ebay at a loss - anyone want the Clearview? It's got the Saeng on it and is in good shape. Don't know what it costs new anymore, but $75 gets it.

Well, I'm glad what you've done makes it work (or at least work better) for you.

I've installed a low "sports" screen - I like the look, and I will agree that the very large, very steep screen (I also have a large Clearview in the garege I previously installed) does hurt the handling at speed - but when I lived in Wisconsin, the protection offered (it gets COLD there) was worth it. Now that I'm in Houston, I will likely never install the large screen again.

Corbin seat? Yes, priced high - but I (and many others) LIKE the very firm foam, which does not ever deform until I'm sitting on the frame rails (OK - not really, because of the seat pan - poetic license here). So, some people love then, some hate them. (NOTE: I believe - not sure - that the Corbin seats you about 1" further back than the stock.) Heck, some people (damn few, but some) like the stock seat. Go figure. I don't know what shipping is to the US, but I'll offer your $100US for the Corbin seat, sight unseen. PM me with a shipping estimate to US zip 77044 if you are serious.

Bars? Most think the stock are too low, I thought them too high and a very awkward, tiller-like angle - replacing them with a lower, flatter, less pullback bar makes it work great for me.

OH - I'm probably not terribly different size than you - I am just under 6'1", and currently 212 lbs, wear a 36" sleeved shirt and about a 33" inseam.

Just my experiences with my Trophy over the last 8 years.
