Advice for Replacing Rear Shock on 96 1200
Hey Everybody,
46,000 miles is enough for the original shock. My 135 lb son (13 years old; yikes he's going to be bigger than me) and I ride together alot. Also, my wife is a frequent passenger; much lighter than the boy! Shock bottoms out and the bike is not sticking to the road perfectly. It has deteriorated to pretty good.
Anyway, two questions for you.
1. Is the Hagon the best way to go? Dave Quinn MC has impressed me with service, knowledge, etc. Plus many of you have strongly endorsed going this route. However, I want the absolute best rear shock. Anyone care to make a case for a different shock?
2. Have not done the research but am inclined to go DIY on this. Any concerns about about doing it at home?
Thanks for the guidance.
