Exclamation Non running Trophy 1200 1997

Hi Guys the names Steve and i own a 1997 1200 Trophy teapot lol .
Purchased as a non runner been in a few shops for repair. Items replaced thus far are...
Battery, Plugs, Pick ups and ecu, coils and the darn thing still wont go....

The story starts ... Mate owned it and was using it for work then one day dropped 2 cylinders so he changed the spark plugs and since then it does not run. We do not have the alarm remote or service key and assume that its that causing the problems. Any of you guys had similar problem who can advise please?
Cheers Steve

The dropping two cylinders points to the coils, as they work in pairs.
The alarm could be the problem here, you'll need to get someone with knowledge of that particular alarm to investigate.
One of the reasons I won't have a alarm anywhere near my bikes, the internet is full of 'alarm problems'.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Thanks Mick i had the thought that the alarm was the problem but need a bypass for it. Like un plug and bridge connectors just to see if that cures it. If it does i will just buy another if not then i am stumped.
Cheers Steve

If only it was that simple to bypass alarms. In actual fact it's as hard to remove a properly installed alarm as it is to wire it in. Especially Meta ones which have looms of twelve or fifteen black unmarked wires; it's to stop the thieves I gather =) Get yourself a wiring diagram, cut all wires from the alarm and set about repairing your loom...

Thumbs up

Hi Guys further to this post i can now add with great pleasure that i have solved this puzzle. Turned out to be the wiring from the crank shaft position sensor on the loom side. Now running great
Cost to repair less than £1 lmfao and now have a very nice bike. . . Not been able to ride yet due to mufflers being destroyed through explosion in the cans. . . Yep exhaust full of petrol plus plug leads on in wrong order and complete devastation of the pipes. . . But i aint mad . . . . I am soooo happy
Cheers Steve

mufflers

do you want a set of D&D's for that bike?
they have been repacked but are a bit rough, so they would be cheap
