Hey all,

I new to the whole triumph scene. I just picked up a 2001 Trophy 1200 with 5,000 miles. I love this bike best thing i've ridden yet. Is there anywhere you can get aftermarket exhaust for the Trophy's and still be able to use the bags?

I'm also looking for a parts and accessory company for Triumph. I havent found a thing. Any ideas or is this normal?

Lastly anyone know how to replace the seals on the front forks. I seem to be leaking a little oil form it only thing is i havent really worked on a bike ever? Is there a step by step on here or anywhere

Thanks

Keith

Couple of Ideas for You

Hi Keith,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Triumph Trophy ownership. This forum, as well as the Yahoo forum, have been extremely valuable to me. Here's a link to the Yahoo forum:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/TriumphTrophy/

You'll find files with step by step instructions for trouble shooting and changing fork seals and dozens of other things. Also, these two forums have really experienced owners who provide timely, good advice for dealing with anything that comes up.

Most forum members use a Haynes manual. It's not 100% accurate which drives some of us crazy. I find it helps me alot. Between my Haynes and the great people on this forum and Yahoo, I feel 100% confident in my ability to fix anything on my bike (1996 Trophy 1200). If I choose to use a shop, I can get enough information to competently manage the repair.

Enjoy your wonderful bike and good luck with your forks.

Welcome aboard! You will love your Trophy! It is amazing the comments people will give you. Seems everyone has a brother/roommate/cousin/uncle or best friend that owned a Triumph. Then the next statement will be that they didn't know they still make them.

Hello and welcome! I am not the new boy anymore! lol. Anyway, The exhausts are unique I am afraid. Aftermarket is a loose term as only one company makes the silencers now and there is a 3-1 or a 3-2 or a 4-2. Triumph dont make them now.

Ebay has always been a fountain of parts especially when you no the inter-combatibilty between models!

As for fork seals, I have to recommend a garage! You need a special tool to do the seals to undo a special bolt in the bottom. Its only a half a day, but my garage only charged me about £50 ish! You will love working on the trophy, and hate it too! I have had mine two years and love it and loath it! But its also my bike! I dont think I have riden anything as good as for what i wanted! Miles!? Ha! I count the countys!!! lol

Not too many accessories made especially for our bikes but a few. What more could you need.
Just curious, why new exhaust, sound, power, what. I changed the exhaust on my Yamaha for sound but I like the Trophy because it will blow by you in silence. Changing to a K&N filter did change the sound a little but I think it is more of an intake sound rather than exhaust.
