Trophy 900 Fork Advice

Morning all,

I normally frequent the sprint forum (as i own one) but i was hoping for some advice for my dad who owns a 1996 Trophy 900. The fork seals keep going on his bike, the first time he changed them he used 3rd party deals. The second time he used genuine triumph seals and they went 4 months later.

The stanchions are a little bit scored ad that's probably the cause, so he has been looking to either get them re-chromed or get a better set off Ebay.

So; are there other models that share the same forks as the trophy i.e trident, triple etc? or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Cheers

Dean

I think you need to exercise some caution here. According to the Haynes manual, forks have changed from the early Trophys to the later ones (different recommended oil height suggests different forks). What is the VIN number of your Dad's bike. I'll then check the manual to see which of the other models are compatible.

It's an N reg trophy 900.

Is that a single or twin headlight model? Mine was a single headlight - I changed forks for late model Daytona 1200 items - they are a bit shorter and fit flush with the top yoke (as standard that is - I I have brought them up a little for quicker steering) that was fine for my bike as I also used tha bars from a Daytona which fit below the yoke and also the top fairing - the main diferences seem to be adjustability on some models and shorter tubes for the later Daytona/Speed Triple
