trailering a trophy

Hi, I would like to trailer my trophy 1200. Where would a good anchor point be for the front of the bike? It seems that wherever I strap it, it will rub the fairing...

You need to get a Canyon Dancer bar harness. They come in 3 sizes and I think the Trophy needs a medium. They also come a couple of different ways. They slip over the bar ends and have straps out the side to hook tie downs to.

I recently hit a piece of sharp rock on the interstate and punctured my rear tire; a story in itself, but....when we loaded the Trophy on my trailer, a friend, who has done this before, tied the front end down by using the lower fork legs, just above the seals. We used my "soft ties" to hook the tie-downs into and, of course, my trailer has a wheel chock. The bike rode just fine and I couldn't see any real bounce in the bike while I was driving along. I'm going to use the same method next year when I take my Virago to Daytona; it seems easier on the suspension and there's no chance of a tie-down loosening up on bumps.

Just a thought from the "village idiot": Jim

Definitely get the medium canyon dancer bar straps (32"). They make a solid cup now (got them as they were the same the price and wanted to try the solid cups as it didn't look like you can really hurt the aluminum bar ends).

They keep the tie-downs 3+ inches from the fairings.

We just brought the trophy back from it's old home (200 miles away) and used canyon dancer on the front and used standard bar ties around the passenger foot pegs that connected to the ratchet tie-downs for the rear. Cleared the exhaust and everything was fine. No rubbing anywhere the trailer axle did it's thing and the trophy stayed exactly where it was loaded and we had to cover some really poor quality roads.
