Mirror disassembly

Has anyone tried to take a mirror apart? I've got the right arm for a mirror without the mirror and the wrong arm with the mirror attached. Do I need to pry the mirror out of its case to remove it from its arm? If I can remove the housing from the incorrect arm, hopefully I can then attach the housing to the correct arm. Sounds reasonable......

HEY......I answered my own question! Yes you can take a mirror apart...the housing from the arm. The dealer wanted $120 for a new one. The used one I got that I thought would work cost $40. I just had to remove the housing from the arm and then place it on my existing mirror arm. NOthing that a really hot blow dryer, a ,screwdriver and a 10mm socket can't fix.

Well done!

Amazing what is possible when we "give it a go"!
