Loose mirror

Hi Guys,
I haven't posted on thios forum in quite a while, but I often lurk. I have a beautiful emerald green 2002 Trophy 1200. I have literally fallen in love with the bike and have almost abandoned my '04 Speedmaster (shame on me). The only problem I have is the right mirror (right when seated on the bike). It's slightly loose, and I can't figure out how to tighten it without disassembling the faring. Any suggestions?

By the way, is Jack Dietz still around?

Lift the rubber boot, two 10mm nuts hold the base to the fairing. There's a fairly recent thread with good instructions on how to tighten things up.

Search this forum for "loose mirrors". NCBIKER has a good thread on this subject.

You mean Jack Goertz? I'm still here! Still riding my '96 Trophy (and other bikes).

I'm sorry, Jack. I guess he memory's not what it used to be. I'm still riding my Trophy and my Speedmaster, but I have let it be known the the SM is for sale. The trophy has new ties and handles like a dream. I love my little cruiser, but here's really no comparison in comfort, performance and handling.

As to where I've been, i generally hang out on the Bikers Hangout forum.

Hope all you guys are getting in lots of safe, enjoyable riding time.
Lane
