Hello, fellow trophy riders/ fans out there............!
I am a german biker, who stays for good already 7 years in the beautiful (southern) philippines. Owning one of the first trophys ever build (according to factory, she was produced March 1991). I am very sure, that this is the only trophy 1200 in this country. I also never saw another one on conventions etc. Have big fun riding her all over the beautiful islands here....great sound, great torque, good seating position. B U T..................very short time after a local mechanic replaced the timing chain (original part, bought in Germany), cylinder no. 2 exploded badly, destroyed everything inside this cylinder. Even got two holes in the engine block. I guess, that there will be nothing to repair. But I want to keep that beautiful bike.
Anybody, who knows a reconditioned 1200 engine? I will still use the gear box and the starter assembly, if possible.
O r - is there another engine from triumph, who will fit?
May be a 900/4 or the 955i three cylinder.
If so, can I still use the 1200 gearbox and the starter?
Can I still use the carbs?
I know, lot of questions, but in this country is not only one triumph distributor or /dealer.

Contact Baxter Cycles in Iowa,USA.You'll be able to find them on the web.They buy up wrecked Triumphs and sell used parts.They should be able to crate up an engine and ship it to you if you've got a VISA card.If they don't happen to have one,they can probably point you in the right direction.

I was just out there a month ago. they had 2 that I think would fit the bill.
Be sure to ask for Pam when you call out there. She is arguably the best in Triumph parts!!
