2002 Trophy Screen

I've just bought a 1200 Trophy which is identical to a bike I owned about 5 years ago. Is it fair to say that the standard screen is about as good as you'll get on these bikes ? I tried several alternatives on my previous Trophy and none of them seemed to make any significant difference, except they were mostly much noisier than standard. I gave up trying and went back to standard, although I have read somewhere that actually reducing the height of the standard screen can make a big difference to buffeting.................sounds abit drastic to me but I wondered if anyone might have tried that ?

I have three different windscreens for my Trophy. The stock "short" or sport screen, the taller screen and a screen that has an extension on top for long distance touring. Of all three, I like the short sport screen the best. It depends on how you ride and how tall you are. I am 6 feet tall and do alot of highway riding, the sport screen offers the least amount of wind buffeting as well as noise.
But in the long run, to each his own.

Smile I got a Clearview XL screen which has made a huge difference.

My 1999 Trophy buffeted me way too much, I'm 6'3". The Clearview Screen made a night and day difference and I couldn't ride without it, especially for long-distance touring.

2002 Trophy screen

I installed the Clearview screen as well. (22") Mine has the adjustable vent. I was skeptical until I got it out on the road. Huge difference, quiet, almost no buffeting, seems like it has stablized the front end. Wish I would have done it years ago.

I haven't really been able to tell how the adjustable vent works yet. Maybe with my new mesh jackets it will give me some insights. It seems there are two possiblities: a) by opening the vent slightly it provides some back pressure behind the windscreen that decreases the buffeting further, and b) coller air directed at my chest.

Hi. I was looking to fit a Clearview screen to my 1999 Trophy. I have bar risers fitted and find that l get alot of buffering over 60 mph and alot of wind noise. Which size screen have you guys fitted?

I have the Clearview XL, and I am 6'3". Works great. Would never go back to stock screen.
