Brake Upgrade Suggestions?

I've got a '98 Trophy 1200 and would like a better set of brakes. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Eric

Six Pot Calipers

I have seen a couple threads discussing 6-pot calipers over at the yahoo group. Here's a link to one of the threads.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/.../message/38397

The Triumph after market calipers are apparently the exact same part as standard Tokico calipers. Tokico's are cheaper.

Riders who have made the switch sound happy about it.

Brakes, we need those right?

When I adopted my Trophy 3 she had a "good" set of pads but they were 12 years old. I ordered some SBC's ( also made in England) that still didn't cut it. I then replaced the rubber lines with Galfer Stainless lines (clutch also) and bought MOTUL racing fluid to replace the gunk the factory put in, yes Virginia brake fluid should be changed regularly even if it "looks" good. I'm a freak 6'6" and 320lbs and this seems to haul me down to a stop pretty good, of course I'm 41 not 21??!!

Did the Busa brakes on mine as well, went with the gold calipers , they go well with the maroon. 2nd best upgrade that I`ve made, right behind the hagon shock.

Tokico Brakes on Trophy

After reading a lot of positive comments on this and other forums regarding the fitting of 6-pot calipers to Trophys I decided to try the same on "trigger" (my Trophy 900).

Brought a set of eBay, a set of pads from the same source and had them fited.

EXCELLENT!

Not only is the braking noticably better, certainly smoother, I think they look better as well...

Thanks all. A set of '05 Busa brakes are enroute and I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Pacific Blue, Paint Code "Dupont BEC 1954"

My wife hates it! She wanted us to get a green Trophy to match her Merc! (Sad I know!)
