Trophy wheels - what material?

Hi guys,

I am looking at buying a 95 Trophy parts bike and using the wheels on a Thunderbird project. Does anyone know what the wheels were made of ie. steel, aluminum? I am planning to have them powder coated and the stripping process is different for different materials (I understand.)

Try holding a magnet to one - that'll tell you if they're steel.

wheels

1) they are cast aluminium alloy
2) I'd hesitate about getting them powder coated. I have found that after a few months, corrosion in the alloy starts to bubble through the coating.
3) I have a good set of Trophy wheels going spare from a previous project....... but I am in UK and I am guessing you are not.
4) They are NOT powder coated!
