Just curious - what are these pads for

Hi
as my trident exhaust has a slight leak I bought a set of downpipes off fleabay, they were probably cheaper than getting mine welded.
Anyway they are from a Trophy, and have small brackets on either side with rubber pads attached.
Looking at the fiches on BikeBandit it appars that only the Trophys have these, and I'm curious what rests on them. As there are no Trophys locally for me to have a look at I thought someone on here could tell me
No great problem, just curious

They are brackets with heat resistant grommets that the fairing rests against.

Talking

It's a 1959 Model 99 with a slimline frame. It was a scruffy bike that I paid about £70 for in 1973. I spent some time and money on it and used it until 1985 when it got put to the back of the garage in favour of a BMW R100RT. I dug it out again about 6 years ago, spent some more time and money on it, and now ride it in Vintage Motor Cycle Club events. It's great fun to ride and sounds like a motor bike should sound.
