Considering GenMar Risers

Does anyone have a picture of the modifications they had to do to the triple tree cover? I went and looked at it and it looks like you have to do some cutting. Pics??

See my reply in the posts about dash covers. I made one up that replaces the stock triple clamp cover and gives you a nice dash for mounting a GPS, MP3 player or gauges.

I can send you a template to make it. Doesn't take long, probably less time than modding the stock cover.

Thanks. Not sure I am handy enough with the tools to make it up even if I had the template.

well i used three6mm bolts inverted in the three holes (thread uppermost) and put 3 pieces of rubber tube .one on each plastic toggle and cut to desired lenght and pushed over the bolt ends. key is inside but can make a mod to get over that. will try and pst photo's. NO cutting of plastic

IF you still had that pic around I'd love to see it. I just installed GenMars on my 2001 Trophy and would rather not cut the cover.

I cut the cover and instantly regretted it. It takes a craftsman to make it look good. If you're not handy with a Dremel tool, find someone who is.

I cut my cover but only after making a template with paper. I started by removing a large section with a coping saw, knowing it wouldn't be enough, and then bit by bit using a razor knife and files removed what was needed to give me a snug, somewhat clean, fit. I thought it looked pretty good until I installed it and noticed a couple of areas that could used a bit more filing...but then I've been told I'm a perfectionist! :-)

I'm happy with how it looks...I'll end up taking it off to do that filing but for now...I'm happy!

Oh yeah, the GenMars are great! My hands were getting a bit numb from the weight of my body pressing on them all the time. Now the ride is much more comfortable.
