IMO, it's less the Trophy itself that's an issue, but more the fact that the bike is in a overall tired / limited growth segment whose demographics are pretty limited. Adventure bikes have a lot of the same capabilities, but are more well-rounded. There's also some arguably better juggernauts in the touring segment (the BMW RT, BMW K, Goldwing) that people are very loyal to. The Trophy seemed like great competition to the previous BMW RT that it was patterned after, but feels outdated compared to the current model RT. It's certainly a bit cheaper than BMW, but the Yamaha and Kawasaki beat it there.

It's interesting that Triumph has finally redone their modern classics and freshened the Tiger 800 / Explorer to try and stay competitive, but the Trophy hasn't changed a bit. It almost became like a Moto Guzzi Norge....with "new" ones that are a few model years old sitting on the showroom floor.

Is it just a good, but boring bike to ride? The other bike I am thinking about is a Honda F6b, and when I go to that forum I read over and over folks commenting about how much they love the bike, how they are so glad that they traded in their whatever, etc. Am I missing something or is the Trophy just not a bike to get the blood racing with excitement?
