Read looked and waited and pulled the trigger. I ordered the silver and I just can't wait. The bike will be at the Toronto bike show this weekend so I'll see how many people I can make crazy by sitting on it for an hour.

D down. I did that with the Roadster, had ordered it, and at the bike show told Gordon Ramsay he'd been sat on it long enough, he got off and I stayed on till my wife dragged me off it:-)

saw it in the flesh at the show in Long Beach... maybe it was the color
( blue) but I was not as impressed as I had hoped. It is WIDE .. That fairing is massive to my eye and over all it did not seem so...... great.
However.. a test ride could make the difference. The riding position also felt a bit cramped and I am only 5'8". We will see.

I quite like the blue, more so than the silver, but was hoping they might have done it in a nice metallic red like my old Sprint Executive - Volcanic Red. Maybe next year they will?

Surprised you found it cramped! I'm 6'1" and I found it just about perfect.

Want to have a longer test ride before I finally decide, I'm a bit luke warm at the moment.

And I want to leave it for awhile until I'm happy that Triumph have sorted the noisey engines that some have experienced with the Explorer and hopefully the transmission whine.

I saw my first Trophy yesterday it was parked next to my 02 RT. I am in the market for a replacement and the Trophy was on the short list. Now I am not so sure. The panniers are double skinned and small on the inside. They also did not close properly on the bike I saw. There was a crease in the seat that looks like it folds right there and will fail. What is with the big bundle of wires zipped to the lhs handlebar? I thought being the premier bike from Triumph it would be a show stopper in fit and finish. The owner paid extra for the heated grips as well? I thought they were standard.
I really wanted the Trophy to be great and sit next to my 900 Thunderbird in the garage. I am so disappointed. $29,500 on road in AU

Hello TBIRD. I am interested in your comments and would like to share my thoughts. I have had a good ride on a dealer demo Trophy and spent some time looking over it. I have a Sprint GT which I am very happy with and use for sports oriented touring, but would like more protection.

The panniers are the same as the GT's. THey are double skinned and completely waterproof and very easy to put on and off. I wouldn't describe th em as small, they are 31l per side, a decent size by most standards. I haven't seen them with with any gaps or heard any reports of poor fit on the GT so maybe this was a case of not being closed properly or just a one off ? Certainly the ones on the demo closed perfectly. I don't travel light and with a topbox have excellent luggage capacity.

Same with the wires - not sure what was going on there and the demo didn't have any finish issues I could find. Most comment on the high standard of fit and finish.

Heated grips and seats are not standard even in the Ukm, I think. I guess in Australia they're not necessarily that improtant to some people. I wouldn't bother with the seats, but in Canberra the grips are useful for distance riding, but I never use them on shorter rides.

At under $29k it is good value against competitor bikes given the high equipment levels. The RT which is perhaps the direct competitor is somewhat dearer and can't match some of the gear.

Maybe worth having a second look at another?

Hi Jamo, Just to let you know the Triumph Trophy SE has the feature to self cancell indicators or manual cancelation. I bought one of the first to arrive in Queensland Australia, can only say i love riding the bike, it is such a good all round package, good luck cheers Eujie
