Have you tailgated

Have you ever been guilty of tailgating while riding your bike?

I've tailgated other cars back in the days when I drove fast cars and was always in a hurry but I'd be far too scared to try it on a bike. I would never have tailgated a bike from a car either cos I'd be too scared of taking out the rider but I notice from another thread that plenty of people do do that.

One and a half

This is the better question I think since it is one we can control.

I for one find I can’t quite make it to the 2 second guideline. I seem to always end up 1.5 seconds behind what’s ahead. Does that qualify as tailgating?
(But I do count slow: “Zero and One and …”)

No.

No - I'm actually quite courteous when I ride.

Yes

Yes I have tailgated. All the illegals in this area driving under the speedlimit. The local Po-Po are rounding them up and sending them home.

I hate getting stuck behind a "Mexican Pace Car"

No tailgating for me

Absolutely not - like others here I try to be courteous while riding (and at other times).

Besides that, I value my life and want to give myself every chance I can. Hanging on the tail of a car - you might as well have death riding pillion with you.

what is this, tailgate awareness week?

to answer your question, yes. Sometimes I ride like a rude bastard....then I realize it, and slow down. But it's so much fun!

To me, tailgating is just a precurser to overtaking. So I only do it while I'm looking for the best chance to get by. If I can't get by, I'll drop back.
