Carry a few marbles on your person. Someone gets too close let one drop, covertly is best. Those things bounce to a car windshield like guided missiles.

Note to self: "Don't tail-gate any of these guys".

I try to put some space between us if possible, or switch lanes to get away from them. I had a really bad experience with an out of control cager as a direct result of me flipping him off. I was on my scooter and he tailed me through a yellow light and wouldn't back off so I turned around a bit and flipped him my middle finger. He then drove his big hoop-dee on the right side of me attempting to run me into on coming traffic, yelling at me the whole time. I slowed down and got behind him so he slammed on his brakes hoping I would rear-end him. That didn't work so he drove at an angle towards the curb to cut me off and make me t-bone him. And this was all with a Cincy cop driving just one car ahead of us. At that point I just stopped (hard to ride when you're crying and your hands are shaking) and watched him pull his rattle trap into the liquor drive thru. Lesson learned.

In my younger stupider days I did the spark plug ceramic peices over the shoulder trick or hock a big loogie straight up in the air trick. Now in my slightly less stupid days (full face now baby) I do the haul ass and get em stuck on someone else trick.

I point my left hand back at 'em like it is a gun, you know, kids stuff. If that does not work, and sometimes it does not, I pull the .45 from it's holster and point it back. That pretty much always works. It is best not to even get into that position. You have got a throttle and gears and a lot of horsepower avalible to get them off your back. If they are trying to kill you, then they are fair game.

As one who has been waived at with a gun while trying to rid myself of a tailgater I have a different opinion. I get the HeII out of the way ASAP.

Looks like about half of you guys succomb to something known as "Road Rage". I find that scary.

Bikes lose to a car every time.

Cars lose to a Semi every time.

A twist of the throttle & some lane changes usually work...but if they are being really stupid, I'll turn off or pull over till they are away....I prefer riding to the ER...

weave back and forth. it is 99 percent effective. i have done it 99 times and it has worked every time. i know this isn't exactly scientific but it beats the advice of throwing things

Get this! I bout got slammed by some stupid a$$ lady 3 days ago coming home from work. The lady had a LOOK4MC license plate and her entire back window was harley stickers (I sh*t you not) how ironic this lady bout laid me out. Stupid b*tch I was so heated I followed her for about 15 minutes and then let it go. Im currently working on a cool way to attach my gun and holster to my bike near the tank for quick access if things get to heated. Its legal in AZ. Not that I'll ever use it but for the intimidation factor.

I really can't stand tailgaters and here in Colorado it is a real problem. In my car I have had people so close going down mountain roads that I couldn't see the grill of their vehicle. On a bike this really concerns me but a couple of suggestions would be to get a taillight modulator, a little flashing from the bike may warn these people, the other suggestion is to pull over when you can because it is just not worth it if things escalate into some 6:00 pm news story.

I have called in plate numbers to the Sheriff and they will send a letter as a aggressive/reckless driving warning and that will show on their computer record.
