Went out for a short ride yesterday and came home 110 miles later, about 20 - 30 of that on dirt. Bike's still dirty. Is that bad?

I occasionally use Meguier's Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover on the tank. Does a great job of removing minor surface scratches and giving it a like new look. It's mildy abrasive so I use it only a couple times a season.

Martin Guitar Polish also works great for cleaning and polishing the tank.

I spend two hours cleaning the bike this morning after spending 150 km in a rainstorm that covered it in road grime and oil sprayed up from cars and trucks. Then when I came back into the house I discovered this thread and felt like I ought to try and put all the crap back on again.

I just spent a piece of yesterday cleaning the bike and chain. Today I spent just cleaning the wheels, those are a major pain. Can't say I'm obsessive about cleaning but I try not to let it get too bad.

A question, any ideas for getting the whiteish wax residue off the kneepads?

"Spray-on mud" is found at your local V-twin motorcycle dealer's shop -- it's right next to the "leather distresser" used to give new gear that 20,000 mile look!
