Must be clean, warm and dry in Australia! Maybe I wouldn't hate chrome if I lived in a different climate, but the only chrome on my bike is the pipes, and that's too much for me to keep shiny. Up here in the north chrome means polishing instead of riding.
But hey, more power to you if you have enough time to both keep it shiny *and* ride. Since I have to choose, I choose to ride.
I bet it's blinding for people who ride with you

Reminds me of a '58 Oldsmobile, of which we used to say "one more piece of chrome and it would have fatal".
Seriously, a beautiful bike.

Perth, Western Australia is warm & dry. A mediteranean climate.
Keeping chrome clean isn't too hard.
My best friend is Mr Sheen (a brand of cleaner/polisher in a spray can). Keeps the water marks off.
But not to worry you guys in the Northerm Hem. Winter is almost out of the way!

I just added a chrome headlight bracket & brake fluid cap. I also added the gaitor covers for the forks. They were supposed to offset the chrome fender I ordered but it didn't arrive in time so I will add that on next service.

Don't forget to add a chrome clutch lifter arm cover (and rubber boot) to go with it.
Looking good...

Do you have a chrome sidestand? I can't tell from the pictures. That's a must have.

[quote=jd_t100;951861]Love the chrome. Been trying to find an excuse to send it back to the dealer before the next service to add some more chrome. Next on the list:
Chrome the speedo/tacho housi
where can I get the chrome tacho/speedo cups?

No chrome side stand. That will have to wait.
As for chrome speedo/tacho housing, I had the same question on a thread
http://www.triumphrat.net/triumph-tw...o-housing.html
Seems there were already threads about the same subject. I tried searching but was using the wrong terminology. I think I would rather a factory made version because I'm not too handy with the tools.

Right now, no one makes "chrome" cups....not even Triumph. One vendor makes polished aluminum cups, but they are VERY, VERY, VERY expensive.
Seriously, make your own guage cups...they are much easier to make than they look.
The hardest part is finding the right size metal containers. Depending on how thick the metal is, you might be able to make them with a drill and some tin snips.
There have been many threads on this....but some seem to have been lost. Early on, some people made them from stainless steel canisters they found at the $1.00 store. Somone else also made them from two shiny soup cans.
I don't know about other "new" motocycles.....but these Bonnies seem to bring out a fabricator in all of us....
