bars ( non alcoholic)

Has anyone gotten a set of risers from Bella Corse, the ones called 'Highlander".......I'm considering ordering a pair and wanted to know if there are any problems with them or user satisfaction stuff....I've got longer cables installed already from the western bars i tried and didn't like.....also, I've got a set of risers (new bon) and would appreciate any advice to keep or remove these with the new bars....
Thanks guys..

Hi Koifarm,
I'm not sure if you're talking about handlebar risers to raise your existing bars, or the Bellacorse High rise bars called "Highlanders".

If you're interested in the bars, you might want to search for a thread I started about a month ago in the Bonnie Owners Forum titled "High Rise Bars on a Bonnie". For the most part I got a lot of good natured razzing for even bringing up the subject. But there were a few free spirits who thought they would be cool.

There is one guy in England, Skyblue62, who runs high bars on his Bonnie. Check out his photo's in the Bonnie pics sticky. I think his bike looks great.

If you do go with the Highlanders, I would really like to see some pictures.

bars

Thanks gents....
Ian, saw your posts in the photo section....the bars from BCorse are a bit lower, i think the rise is only 6"...Ive already got the risers from Nbonneville but will try with and without them to see what fits the best.
I have spinal stenosis which is basically an arthritic condition squeezing the spinal column and making it uncomfortable in certain positions....what my goal is is to get a more upright posture on the bike. With the stock bars and NBonnie risers i am almost where I want to be but after an hour-hour 1/2 i start to get pain in the lumbar region.
Thanks for the posts....ignore the ridicule of having "ape hangers" heck, yours aren't THAT bad...lol...I've seen some that leave the rider standing on the seat!!!!!
Nice background as well....I plan on coming to england next year to catch some of the bike shows for antique/classic machines, I plan on being there about a month...based out of london where a friend has a loft.
Got plenty of time and will no doubt look for a bonneville to rent/ride while there...
As far as the $...heck , I'll give you $7.50.....lol...
Bill

Bill - if you suffer from back pain, I'd definitely go a more upright position

How I found my perfect bar height, was to sit on the bike in a comfortable position and put my hands where I wanted the the bars to be and then simply measured the rise needed.

Once the bars were fitted, not only was the position a lot more comfortable, but I found a distinct improvement in handling, probably due to my elbows being bent.

Wind blast can be a problem above 60, but you can always fit a screen

Believe it or not, noise is also reduced when sitting upright, I think my helmet is more aerodynamic when my head is upright

If your planning on coming to the UK, don't forget it's the Bonneville's birthday

And then there's the ACE cafe, might see you there

thanks

Thanks Sky...
I will put that one on the calendar...i've been trying to pack as much as possible into a month and that gives me a starting framework to begin...

Thanks for the info on the back thing....i've got a summer screen on now which helps and a few more inches of helmet exposure isn't going to make much difference in the slipstream...I usually keep it under 60 in most cases anyway....just seems to ride nice there....

I'll send a pic when the bars are on....
Bill
