wow, a big fat ugly overweight watercooled cruiser. (wretching vomit heard in background)

Somehow they made it uglier than the Rocket 3.

A rocket with something missing or a speedmaster with a thyroid problem...neither desirable! Cruisers, crotch rockets...dislike em both. Give me a UJM or a bonnie any day!...Oh wait I already have em both!

Triumph's slogan as taken directly from their website...

"Some people go through life following the crowd.
Others think for themselves. They go their own way."

Looks to me like Triumph did just the opposite...

Without the badges, its just another lame heavyweight cruiser.

Bigger.is Not Always Better...

I purchased my T100 simply because it was a "normal" size bike and not a "monster" bike.

I had my share of big bikes: a 6-cyl engine Honda Valkyrie , a Honda VTX 1800, HD Road King, Yamaha Road Star, etc. Those were nice bikes, but heavy, kind of cumbersome and did not impress me enough to keep them. Most smaller bikes generate more power to weight ratio, give better mileage, are easier to handle and to me, more fun to ride.

Triumph already has the Rocket and that is one HUGE bike. I guess they think there is a market for this one.

So much for triumph listening to their customers, the masses say they want an 1100/1200cc Bonne, so what do we get, an even bigger rocket style bike.

They aren't listening to their current customers, they are (presumable) listening to their potential future customers. Triumph are trying to get a share of the HUGE 1500/1600cc HD & Jap cruiser market in the US. A 1200cc bike may appeal to someone after a jap cruiser with little brand loyalty, but I doubt a HD buyer would be tempted. But those few extra cc (and you'd hope hp & torque) could swing it...

But given that I'm not in the market for a jap cruiser or HD, I am useless at market research and am not American so can't really comment on their thought processes, this may not be a 100% water tight argument
