There's no doubting the man had style, but the first thing that struck me about the bike (if that's meant to be the actual jump bike) is that there's a good 10% surplus weight on that puppy. I'd have though, considering the intent, that losing as much weight as possible would have been of prime importance... losing the chain guard, lights, rear fender etc. could probably shave at least 35lb off a 350lb bike. Even if that equated to a couple of feet on the jump (or even inches!) it's got to be the way to go...

Evel Knievel did some amazing things but I'm really not a fan of the guy personally and I would never buy that bike. I just don't want an American flag on my British bike.
