Hey Everyone!

I am looking for some input, this is a very busy forum. I have had some thoughts about splitting it into 2 seperate forums, one for Bonnies and Thruxtons and a seperate one for the Americas and Speedmasters.

I can see good points to having them together like they are now.

What do you think? Would we be better off by splitting or by staying together?

Thanks for your input!
Just thought it may be opportune to resurrect this old post. I originally declined as I thought it was appropriate to keep the twins in one forum.

I now find I spend some time searching through to find more model specific posts.I don't have a good success rate using the search option.

I did like the idea someone had of a sub group type thingy..

What do you all think?

I like it all together--plenty of overlap makes it all useful reading.

There's too much knowledge in this forum to just break it up. This is a really great forum and I think I might lose interest in it if the only people I had to talk to had the same model as mine. I have a vintage Triumph as well as a new one but I hardly ever go to the vintage forum because most of those guy's have had Triumph's for years and already know how to work on them. In this forum you have newer bikes that no one 's worked on before and reading about all the mod's and problem's { dare I say } can benefit everybody that has 270 or 360 engine. Dan I can't believe you would want to break up one of the best motorcycle forums on the Internet. I can't wait for the Scrambler crowd to join in so we can hear about how BAD ASS those things are in the dirt and you know those guy's will be looking for mod information too. Keep this great forum going!!! :asb: :chug: :upthumb:

stay together , as a learning resource , the commonality helps, and I think there is a very strong sense of community in the twin talk group.

Even if I am the only one who likes the Paul Smith bikes.

I'd agree with the majority here that the commonality of information justifies keeping one forum.

If, however, there are technical reasons for needing to split the forum, I would suggest the split be between mechanichal and cosmetic interests.

I am interested in both Bonneville and Thruxton, but I tend to skip over posts concerning the fitting of seats, lights and other adornments in favour of those dealing with technical matters.

A few of the comments above have centred on the difference between Thrux/Bonnie/SM/America owners. I suspect that Thrux and bonnie owners might be more inclined to mechanical matters while SM/America owners might be more style concious.

Just my opinions.

I say split the two. The two types of bikes are not even close and have almost nothing in common.

I agree with Gary D, and provide a place for the Scrambler.

I'd like to see the format stay the way it is. Good group of folks voicing their input and suggestions. Twins should stick together.

Well, the forum is currently split but not in a particularly logical fashion. It makes much more sense to split along the lines of "Classics" in one forum and "Cruisers" in the other.

Eventually they will have to be split, but for now keep them together.

Scrambler looks like a Bonnie but has a BA/SM engine. I don't know where that will fall.
