Has anyone tried out the contemporary seat from the sixty8 collection? I am looking for something a little more comfortable than the stock seat for longer rides but I still need room behind me to strap on a tail bag. I'd love to hear some comments from anyone who has tried it out. Thanks.

CTF, yeah I have and found it to be much more comfortable than the stocker. And if you happen to be looking for a brown one I've got one right here in KC that I'll sell you. I just found that I liked the look of the Corbin better and never got around to selling it.
Will be good to see another Triumph in KC, sightings are kind of rare.

Also, even if you aren't into the brown color you're welcome to come by and try it out for comfort/fit.

Raindogs-
That is a very kind offer, I may just take you up on that. Bonneville sightings are pretty rare around here. Do you by any chance live and/or ride in the Brookside area? I have seen a bonne black cruising by St. Theresa's academy a couple of times...

Any time you're up for a ride and would like some company, send me a message and I'd be happy to join you!

Here's a picture of my grey/black Sixty8 Seat. I can ride longer on the Bonnie with this seat that I could on the Sprint ST that preceded it.

The Thruxton seat is the same seat but for less money.

To be exact, the Black/Grey Contemporary Seat (A9700103) is listed at $295, whether for the Thruxton, Bonneville, or as a Sixty8 part. The Black Contemporary Seat (T2300603) is listed as $270 for the Thruxton and Bonneville, but for some reason (typo?) it is listed at $295 as a Sixty8 part.

This whole sixty8 versus regular Triumph aftermarket is getting frustrating. I ordered a Triumph solo seat from MADSS, and it has a sixty8 tag on it. I'm not complaining about that, just the confusion about which seat is which seat. My solo came with Triumph embossed on the back, while others who ordered theirs last fall didn't get that. For someone wanting to put a different seat on their bike, it gets confusing. What's the difference between a sixty8 Contemporary seat, a Contemporary seat listed for the Bonnie/Thrux, and an OEM Thrux seat?

The part numbers are the same (see my post above). My guses is that grouping parts under the "Sixty8" theme is primarily for marketing.

I would speculate that if you ordered the Black Contemporary Seat (T2300603) AFTER you bought the bike, then the seat would come with the Sixty8 removable sticker attached. If you get the same seat as original equipment, Triumph may leave the sticker off. Just a theory. If you don't like the sticker it is easy to remove it.

BMW is equally clever, they market a lot of fine clothes but not everyone wants the BMW propeller showing, so BMW makes it easy to snip it off.

Bottom line, Triumph is trying to offer accessories and refine their marketing. In most cases we benefit from this ultimately. (Now, go get worked up about something important, like politicians with no back bones
