FattRat and I are going Saturday morning and I was wondering if anybody wanted to join us for the ride. We are meeting at the Chevron station at Grant Line Rd. in Tracy at 8:00AM. We are riding over to the Santa Clara Fairgrounds to the swap meet / show then we are riding up to Alice's Restaurant after a quick stop to Rabers to see what kind of vintage British metal they have for sale.

Look for this jacket and you've found us.

It's not a clear picture of us but here's a mug shot of FattRat and I.

Click on this link for a close up of our mugs.

Bryan and I may be joined by a couple other guys in Tracy..... if it doesn't rain, it's gonna be a FANTASTIC day for a ride! Unfortunately I hafta ride to this classic "Clubmans All British Weekend" on a Japanese bike (see below). You see, my custom made Excel alloy wheels with heavy duty Buchanans have been discovered with three broken spokes.

It appears TCR wheel lacing in LODI, CA not only put my rear tire on the wheel back wards (now corrected), but apparently did not tighten the spokes correctly. They aren't stepping up to the plate though, and have been caught in a blatant lie.....

With any luck, my efforts this morning will be met with good fortune and I can get my wheel repaired before Friday night. But I am slamming TCR wheel lacing of LODI, CA as a tag team of liars and as....... lacking. I'm pretty pissed, pissed enough to put my bike up for sale and move onto another project. I would like, but can't.... get into debt on a set of Dymag wheels for two grand but I have waaaaay too much money invested in my red café racer and hafta stop this expensive obse$$ion. So unless somebody out bids a gentleman in Davis, he may soon be posting on this site as the new owner of my Bonnie for but a mere $7500.oo

Danm, sorry for the rant.... but I'm being hit from all angles with 'issues' right now, all of which are MY fault for having not exercised sound reasoning skills of late.

JOIN US SATURDAY IN TRACY FOR A RIDE TO SAN JOSE WITH LIKE MINDED MOTORCYCLE ENTHUSIASTS!!! In addition to Bryan's America, expect a GS, V-Strom, and me on my FZ1, it's kinda hard to miss:

For sale..... if yer pockets are fat with money:

Hi guys, a friend and I are riding down Saturday morning as well. Fattrat, I saw your Bonnie on CL the other day. Why you would sell that and keep the Fazer, I'm not sure.

I was trying to finish my T140 for the show. She's looking beautiful, but still missing the top half of the engine and many, many electrical bits, so I guess she'll make her debut next year, or maybe at Dixon.

Last month, I sold all of my Japanese classics, and I bought a Thruxton with the revenue just last week. She's still sitting in the garage awaiting pipes, jets and AI removal. I am excercising every last bit of willpower and holding out until I get that done before riding. I make many unnecessary detours to the garage every day to sit on the bike or on the Peter Egan stool to stare. 0.8 miles on the clock right now (from England). I guess she won't be making the show either.

So I guess it'll be on the back of the trusty Tiger then, as if that's some sort of torture. I guess it is, in a way, when there are two shiny, unridden cafe racers taunting me from the garage.

I will check back with you guys later in the week if it looks like we can meet up with y'all.

jetpowered SacTown dude......

I'm tore up,
like REALLY tore up 'bout having to do what I know I gots ta do. It's a shame too, 'cause I built the thing; it's gonna be like giving up a part of me. You know, like that "poser vs biker" thread.....? It jus' ain't gonna be the same trying to pose next to some gayass *yellow UJM...... but I simply gotta choose between two recreational vehicles, I can't afford the luxury of two motorcycles.

(*The Yamaha has tubless tires that I can plug out on the open road in the event of a puncture, it's got great brakes, 130 hp, an upgraded suspension with lowered internals, and in four minutes I can attach a pair of hard Krauser bags for a cross country trip. The choice is clear.)

I'll be there. Maya (who works at Moto Italiano/San Jose Triumph and has seventy-leven vintage British bikes and is involved in the BSA club that's sponsoring the event) told me that I HAVE to enter my T100, but it's not completed yet. If their service dept receives the replacement for the lost titanium bolts for the front sprocket cover tomorrow or Friday, I may enter it even without the chain guard over the belt. But I'll ride it there for sure; the weather is going to be good.

This is the 20th time they've done this show, but I'd never heard of it before. What a treat it'll be to see all the vintage British bikes!

You'll be arriving early in the morning I'm sure. Would you like to meet us in front of the give away bike at say 10:30 AM? Otherwise you can always ride with us.
:chug:
