I priced out a Scrambler today with a few added accessories (silencers, tach, skidplate) Caspian blue 2006 $8143.00 OTD with those 3 items installed. I think I might be a new scrambler owner very shortly!!!! :-D :-D :-D
BTW the dealer said the blue is faster than the red!!!! :-D

Holy *****! That sound like a bargan. Is this a brand new unit or preowned? The accessories are worth about a grand alone, not to mention the coolest color in the universe!

TC88,

enjoy the bike, I remember when I got mine I was like a boy waiting for santa to come.

panthercity,

Well done sir, I'm glad someone has done that at last. I had a mind to put a 2into1 and a couple of panniers on my bike for touring next summer, I'm already at the stage of having virtually a bonnie with high pipes, but the main thing is that 270' motor. I love it to bits.

Short version of the story is that I liked almost everything about the Scrambler except the CL450 pipes. Tony, my dealer, worked with me to put Thruxton headers and D&D reverse cone megs on. They were a bit to barky for my consideration of my neighbors so we fitted it with TORS.

Comin' up on 2k mile snow and I couldn't be happier!

(Well, except, if we could get a bloody Thruxton centerstand since the Scrambler one won't work with these pipes!)

I've never ridden a 270 degree SM, America, or Scrambler. How does the sound differ from the 360? I'm certain it doesn't sound like Britbikes of old .... maybe more like a v twin? How about power delivery? Any different?

The prospect of converting a Scrambler into a std Bonneville is intriguing.

BTW - that's a neat looking ride!

Bob

I really like the look. Were the pipes easily bolted on? Or was some fabrication needed? If you put on a standard Bonnie seat, I guess you could lose that exhaust hanger left over from the high pipes. I too am not real happy with the look of the standard Scrambler mufflers...the old stlye high pipes were much more attractive and not so big. Nice job!
