There have been threads starting and ending about the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days since last winter. It's finally only a few weeks away.

I plan to get there on Saturday (7/29) morning and hang around until evening. Who else is going?

Rich: we normally go every year, but will be on the way back from a week in Lake George, Lake Placid, etc. this year. If we come home early for some reason we will be over there on Saturday, but don't count on us.

If you have not been to the AHMRA flat track races on Friday at the Ashland Fairgrounds(come about 3 or 4 PM until the end) by all means try to attend that!! They are great fun and some of the old time riders are still out there. It will give you a great feel for the King of Motorcycle Racing sport that we did back in the 50s-70s. I used to race flat track and it really brings back some memories for me.

We would usually go on Friday in the car because it doesn't get over until around 10PM; drive home for the night and then ride the bikes to Mid-Ohio on Saturday. This late in the year it will be almost impossible to find a room in the Mansfield/Ashland area for Friday night.

Enjoy. Wish we could be with you, but not enough to cancel our vacation! :-D

Monte

8/12 is good for me. I had a great time last Saturday and look forward to another round.

I'm riding up. I live over by Dayton and was thinking about leaving on the 24-25 of July and ending up there on Friday night. My friend is showing a Combat Wombat and racing another Combat Wombat there. He's RV-ing and bringing my tent and BIG COMFY sleeping bag for me. PM me and we can axchange info to get together. I heard the Triumph guys always get together but don't know where,

I'll be there. I am riding my 1981 CB900 to Chicago and hooking up with my brother-in-law (Honda 500) and heading over. We are going to the museum on Thursday and then spending Fri-Sun at Lexington and the nearby venues. Can't wait.

I'd ride my Scrambler, but it's not old enough for a vintage meet.

Hope to see you there.

Don't expect a whole lot with the museum. I went there last in 2003 when they had the Harley stuff in there. It's a VERY small museum. There's a motorcycle superstore up in the NE sector of Columbus called Iron Pony that's worth a stop. It's as big as a Kmart, but only sells motorcycle stuff. Also Columbus has AD Farrow's (oldest HD dealer in the country) and an easy rider store and dealership. I have not been to Farrow's or ER so can't speak to whether or not they are worth a visit.

(Weather permitting) I hope to leave at the crack of dawn (or earlier) on Friday & head south on Rt. 42 all the way. 'Hope to take all 4 of the wheels ! Can only do the one day, but certainly looking forward to it. I agree with the "smallness" of the museum. Rode there back on June 10, from sunshine to rain to be less than impressed! Ciao

I was thinking of heading down there that Saturday. I'll let you know as the date draws nearer.

I'll be leaving Joliet with about 6-7 other riders on Thursday afternoon and we will be staying through Sunday afternoon. One of my Bros from the BIR is bringing his truck for party central, so I'll inform everyone of the location as the date gets closer for hooking up and riding together. Joe
