I bought a set of slantbags w/out brackets and now I can't finger out how to mount them. I stopped by the t-dealer and was told that they are $190 EACH. OUTRAGEOUS. I'm getting mad just thinking about it. Anyone have any magic I can use to mount saddle bags w/out Triumph mounts.

Any ideas besides buying $700+ Sixty8 citybags.

Not mine, stolen from someone else. There's a thread here somewhere, but I can't find it. He used 3/8 stainless rod.

Have you considered Easy Brackets or Ghost Brackets?

I'll have to figure out how to post pics, but I have a sissy bar on my Bonnie and there are two screws (allen head) that mount the sissy bar to the bike. Well, I got some aluminum thats about 1.5 inches across, screwed two of the pieces together to make a T, and screwed the bottom of the T (imagine an upside down "T") into where the sissy bar mounting brackets are. I'll try to get some pics on here, but it cost me ohhh, about 7 cents to make them.

I got my bike with the sissy bar, so I dunno if the same brackets/bolts are there if you dont have one. I'm at work and bored so I'm gonna go out and get some pics and see if I can get those pics on here.

I agree, the price for brackets is beyond retarded.

Well I went out there and looked, and of course you have to have the sissy bar to mount the brackets the way I did. And of course, the new submissions for pics area is shut off for the moment too on this site so I cant even show you what they look like...

Anyways, mine are like upside down T's that keep the saddlebags from rubbing into the tires... Theyre spray painted black too, and surprisingly they sorta just dissappear when the saddlebags are off. I've got the tourmaster bags that zip off too, so they come off pretty easy.

The PAIR of brackets should be $180-ish from your dealer. Not each side.

Sooner Scott, great minds think alike...That is exactly what I hav ein mind for mine, except I hadn't thought of the top of the "T" to widen them...Gonna use a peice of 1/4" steel flatbar, drill some holes and there ya go.....
