Just installed these beauties (German stuff I think) plus the NGK plugs and shzam! They really sparked up the bike! (pun intended) Feels crisper and pulls like a demon in the mid range. I like em! No dyno to tell but the buttdyno tells me they work well. Worth the money and really easy to hook up-15 minutes and I am old and slow. You wil like these.

I'm kinda suspicious of them still. The only 2 posts i've seen so far that say they do increase performance is yours and one at BA. (or was that you there too?) And both said they also installed iridiums at the same time. The reason i have my doubts about the coils is that having iridiums myself i felt a definate midrange seat of the pants boost. So anyone installing both at the same time would lead me to believe theres a good chance it's the plugs they're noticing. I've yet to hear from anyone who's tried them and said they felt an increase. They've all stated things like quicker starting and smoothness and such, but not performance increase except the 2 that also installed iridiums ! So that sounds very much like a good possibility thats where the performance is coming from. I'm just talking out loud here, but i really would like to know whether the coils themselves do add some performance.

I am happy with the products so far-I cannot do a complete dyno test workup but I will race anybody anytime if they so chose. I Don"t know what that means either! Just that there is no actual quantitative measurement available without spending a small fortune and lots of time. I trust my buttdyno and will stick to my assessment of the equipment.
Spark plugs alone Do Not give you any measureable gains that I know of unless you fire them hotter and longer etc, I have dynoed a Yamaha road racer (250cc) with several different types of plugs/stock factory ignition, and they all gave essentiallty the same HP. We could go on and on to no avail. To wit the coils and wires from Noloogy are a good bet for me. I like them and believe they enhanced the overall performance of my bike.
PS: I have the NARK, AI removed, 8,300rpm box, D&D pipes, and Fiamm air horns!

Great timing !!
My Iridium plugs and NGK wires came in the mail today from New Bonneville. Glad to hear that starting and performance seems to have improvement. I believe the 'butt-dyno' to be one of the most invaluable tools in the amateur twiddler's toolbox.
Unfortunately, ol' man winter is still camping out in my back yard. Here's hoping he buggers off in a couple weeks.
Did you gap these plugs to the stock setting or did you just install them as they came? Please post what the gap setting was, thanks man.

The Iridium NGK plugs come gapped at a tight 35 thou-I would not change that setting.
Do check them but dont expand the gap. Should be good.

Thanks HiVel.
Did you remove the A/I while you were there? I have the removal kit ready to go as well. Going to do the A/I; the plugs and wires; NH bell horn and K&N air filter; Moto Twin SS Silencers and re-jet. I'm hoping the bike will be a little more snappy this year when the snow finally melts. I have all the bits except for the silencers and bell horn. The silencers were back ordered from Bella Corsa, but, Race Dweeb says they shouuld be here in a week. I can be patient as the snow is still deep outside.
Thanks again for posting the gap settings.

.... I think "lanwanman" was the one who gave us the statement that went something like this:
"A sparkplug alone cannot produce horsepower...If there is a power gain of some small percentage, It is probably due to fewer misfires..."
I'd extrapolate from this correct mode of thinking:
" A properly exploited/specified coil and wires in an ignition system only produces electrical current to the plugs, as long as there is enough current to make the plug create a spark of enough intensity to ignite the fuel/air mixture, you get the BOOOM!... A larger or hotter spark does not create any larger BOOOM! The minimal intensity of spark is all that's needed to ignite the load .... "
ButtDyno's are flawed....
This set-up may well work on your system, but your judgements cannot be taken as anything but an observation about what you've done.... The results will be different from system to system... NO Right, No Wrong, you're just guessing as to the factual evidence... Basically, chasing GHOSTS....
Thanks for the post and observations... But I thought we were going to get some real information.... I thought you were going to tell us something.

There you go again, Redline. You know butt dynos are supreme rulers in the motorcycle tuning world. :-D Quit trying to confuse us with facts--we are only interested in truths, and truth is whatever we believe to be true at the moment. :-D Our views on the current war is ample proof of this, IMHO.

Yes-the AI went away a long time ago and was never missed.
Sounds like you will have a nice set up for this riding season.
