Hey Thunder_ Forever; Did you happen to ride down to Mavericks to see the Big wave surfing championship? I've lived in this area practically all my life and have never been there. Plan on taking the wife and kids there soon to see it.

I live in Texas and I hear people complain about the "cold" weather too and just shake my head. 50's-70's is the BEST riding weather because you can wear all your gear and not sweat your tail off! 80's and above things get a little too hot while riding in the city which is where I do 95%+ of my riding because I commute on my SM.

I believe that break at Mavericks is WAY out to sea, don't know how much you can see from shore.Talking with Mrs M today about vacation;she wants to go to a wedding in San Jose,I don't.She says 'Why don't you ride up the coast and meet me there?'Sounds like a plan;maybe we can meet up and go for a ride.Around June 24 :-D

It's supposed to be only a half mile out from the rocks. I might ride out there in April sometime. :chug:

When it is breaking, which is almost never, you can see it from the cliffs no problem. It is worth taking a day off to see it break. Only the biggest of swells get it breaking good.
As far as Ca. riders whining about the cold, it makes me wonder too.
I live in L.A. and I think nothing of riding to work when it is 40* in the morning. It will warm up by 9:00am.
86* and sunny today. More tomorrow. Down to a positively frigid 69* on Wednesday, BRRRrrrrr.
They say that it might even rain this winter. :-D
(just tossed the last part in for the New Englanders)
Don't you just love those Nor'easters?
Oh, and Thunder_Forever, you'll see. When it is damp the cold get into the bones. In a couple years your blood will thin out and you to will wish for sunny days.

You must have been in a good mood after a milk run. If anyone touches my bike they better do some fast talking.
