Took the day off from work today to go for a ride and was richly rewarded. The weather was around 50 with mostly sunny skies.

I'm a new rider so since Thanksgiving I had only put 27 miles on the bike, all on my own street, about 5 miles at a time.

Today I ventured out onto the state highway, went to the post office, got gasoline for the first time, took some winding country roads, went through town and encountered real traffic and traffic lights.
Did a total of 34 miles today, and even hit 60 MPH for the first time.

You know what? It was an absolute gas! The bike handled and responded like a dream. It fits me like a glove. I have a lot to learn but the bike is making it a pleasure.

Every time I stopped, I wanted to get right back on the bike and do some more riding.
Can't wait for the weekend - and SPRING!

Ah yes, I remember those early gaining-confidence days well. Won't be long before you're riding 150 miles and topping 100mph on open stretches.

Thanks to all who attended!

Do you keep one bullet left for yourself, for when it's all over and done?

You should be commended for starting off so slow. Most people get on for the first time and within no time at all are riding foolishly enough to either kill themselves or make a mistake that causes them to learn the hard way. Good for you !
