Do many of you wear Davida Helmets? They are cool in some ways and dorky in others. Are the high quality?

These are very high quality helmets. Leather and Fiberglass in contruction. In fact, of all my helmets, the Davidas are by far the quietest. I think because of the leather lining plus fiberglass tends to be quieter.

Yeah they are dorky but the look is cool. With goggles you look like a guy waiting to be shot from a circus cannon.

Full disclosure: I am tending to wear full face helmets almost all the time now. They simply offer more wind and crash protection and I have gotten used to wearing a full face. I still pull the Davida out when I go with retro brown leathers though.

The model I have:

Davida helmets are made by bikers for bikers. Their factory is in Liverpool. They are a friendly bunch of guys and always welcome people to the factory. They'll even fix you up with a tailor made helmet.

Their helmets have to meet British and European test standards which are the most rigid in the world and far exceed D.O.T

Take a look:

Davida

I also wear a Davida Classic. Black with Silver Flames. They are referred to as the "State of The Art 1959 Low Dome Racing Helmet". I find that on a long ride, especially with wind, my neck doesn't get sore from the drag. When wearing a 3/4 or full face bucket, my neck aches. I guess if I was in a different riding posture (crotch rocket / dog ***** a football), maybe the wind would move around the full face bucket better. No argument about full face protection here, but I usually use my Classic. It's British and it just fits in with the Bonnie perfectly.

I have the Classic, which according to Davida's web site doesn't conform to any know safety standards. I wear it with aviator goggles once and a while.

I also have a Davida Lunar full face flip up which I like and meets the tough European standards. The Classic is without a doubt the noisiest helmet I've ever worn.

On their website they don't show a full face flip-up style helmet. Where can I see one?
