2000 Triumph TT600

Here's the scoop, the rear parking light was left on draining the battery. So i try charging back up. The bike starts and dies instantly, so i jump start it with my R6 and it will stay running right up until i disconnect the jumper cables. So i kept it revved at 4-5K rpms and it will stay running but the lights and speedo twitch.

It will run until you stop the bike, it will die at idle. So i put the R6's battery in the TT600 and starts and runs no problem. If i put the TT600's battery in the R6 and jump it the bike will run no problem. Neither lights or the speedo were acting up on my R6 but the battery wont hold its charge even after a hard run.

So my question is this, there must be something wrong with the TT600's charging system if the R6 will run with the dead battery. So im assuming if i put a new battery on the TT600 it will just drain it rather then keep it charged?

So how do i go about testing the charging system on the TT600?

Have you had any help on any of the other tt600 elec threads?? There's one called bad stator D650 that will give you all the info you need.
