Headlight bulb replacement

I apologize for this question in advance for how stupid it may seem. My low beam headlight died the other day and the service manual i have says i need to dismantle my whole cockpit remove the whole headlight assembly just to change the bulb, is this really neccesary. I figure ishould be able to reach in at it unhook the wire harness and twist. also how much effort is needed to unhook the harness i tried already but with my luck i stopped before i broke something?

What bike? On a TT600, you absolutely don't have to take everything apart. It is a bit of a pain to get at the back of the light, but you can do it without taking much of anything apart. Other models, I am not so sure.

Not much. You just pull back the boot, undo the clip, pull out the assembly, change the bulb, and put it all back. It is fiddly, but it isn't tough. I don't remember if you have to unplug the bulb before you pull it out or not.

Just a PIAA superwhite or similar bulb. There's no reason to go up in wattage if you use one of the superwhite type bulbs. They are a little more expensive, but they let you see.

I have the exact same issue and have been running with my high-beam.

My current lite has a little bit of a green/blue tint and is extremely bright.

Anybody know what type of bulb this might be? I kinda like it and would like
to find a replacement bulb that will do the same.
