Speed Four Vibrations

Hi,
On my 2004 Speed Four after I've ridden it for about 15/20 minutes the fingers on my right hand start to go numb, it isn't so bad on my left hand, but I don't seem to feel any undue vibrations that may cause this.
I have been told that altering the handlebar weights may cure the vibration somewhat. What do you think?

Has anyone on here come across a similar situation and if so any pointers towards a remedy would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The standard Speed Four bar end weights are rather heavy. I think your problem is caused by gripping the throttle too hard. Try to soften your grip a bit.

You might also wanna try a throttle rocker

Interestingly, btw, when I once had to ride the Speed Four with standard clip ons without bar end weights, the vibrations drove me up the wall. Now that I have LSL clip ons without weights, it doesn't seem to vibrate at all!

I recently replaced the stock tires with some new ones. Something happened, maybe they are better balanced on the front but the old slightly vibrations from the wheels seems to have gone completely away.

It might not be vibration related, especially if you don't notice any obvious vibration. Try to relieve some of the pressure on the outside of your palms. Use more of your back and stomach muscles to keep the pressure off. What can happen is you pinch off the ulnar nerve and the fingers will start to feel numb.

My S4 has a numbing effect on my hands right at 70 mph. Anything above or below is relatively comfortable. I have SkyKing mirrors with the stock barends, but they don't seem to make a difference. I also have new Conti Road Attacks. All things being equal, the bike just doesn't like 70 mph. Darn, I'll have to goose it!

Try some different gloves ... or just try gloves if you ride bare.

I have ICON Merc's for now and they have good padding in the palms. Helps reduce the feel of vibes and add comfort.
