The manual is copyrighted. I don't think it is a problem to quote it, as long as you say where the information came from. Copying it in whole like the download is illegal.

While this is true, since Triumph is such a strong and loving brand you think they'd allow you to download this, or hell offer you the ability to download a section for a price.

Oh wait that would require a business plan with a real heart of customer service and loyalty to their consumers.

I've begun working on a new S4 repair book based on my legal copy. Then I can post it anywhere I want whenever I want because all the content will be created by myself.

I'm designing a website in the same basis at the moment. It's been a work in progress for about a year now.

I believe the tolerances/specs is a free game kinda thing. It's not a written article that can be stated in someone's words that you or copying ya know?

In theory
Accessible Copies
It is legal in several countries including Great Britain and the USA to produce alternative versions (for example, in large print or braille) of a copyrighted work to provide improved access to a work for blind and visually impaired persons without permission from the copyright holder.

if you copied it manually into a larger font it would technically be legal?

makes you wonder now?

if triumph does not offer one that is available for the visually impaired you could create one using larger fonts and pictures thus avoiding the law... I like to blow up my copy so I can leave it on the desk nearby and not have to pick it up to read it while im working..

Oh no...the thought of a person needing size 24 bold font or braille to work on their motorcycle before riding it brings tears to my eyes (from laughter that is)! Yakoo, good loop-hole point nonetheless. Binglax09, to answer your question in regards to specifications (i.e. engine tolerances, torque specs, liquid volumes, etc.) you do not need to worry about copyright infringement so long as you do not scan the document or make a direct copy of it. Generally speaking, numbers are numbers and anyone can grab a micrometer and find the same specs. What you have to watch out for is what Will has said about properly quoting and citing direct copies of text. I could see where this would present a problem if someone was trying to rewrite a repair manual without quoting, as there are only so many ways one can say "Remove the cylinder head." This info is from my experiences, so feel free to correct me if I'm missing something, or if I'm plain wrong.
