You have to pay $199 for a new Tuneboy key to download into your bike.

Chances are the dealership is gonna charge less than $199, however $199 lasts forever. Or a new unit is $375 or so in a group buy.

ok I see.

The dealer wanted $95 dollars and he didn't know when it was from. He said it be whatever the latest was he had.

it's important to know your year and model. The 2002 tune works well in the 00 and was the same for leftover 03's. The 2001 tune is quite different due to cam profiles and shouldn't be updated with either the 00 or the updated 02 tunes.

You may not need/want a tune upgrade.

I ran the 2002 map in my 2001 all the time. Well, not all the time, because I couldn't stop myself from messing with it all the time, but you get the idea.

My bike is a 2000 TT600.

So I should ask then for a 2002 upload on my 2000 TT600?

So far the stock response blows. It lags. I can turn the throttle and it will not respond until a second after. If you blip the throttle fast the rpms drop down THEN shoot up after a lag time passes.

I don't want anything special, just good decent throttle response.

I take back my 01 comment. I thought I read somewhere that that wasn't a preferred route.

But.... the 02 tune will help the general running condition of the 2000, but it won't make it a snappy throttle responder. They're not cammed to respond real well under 4-5k. I'm sure someone might disagree but I think that's accurate for all of them.

I was excited because it made my bike able to run well before a full warmup which was really an issue with the 00 tune that was in it. For the record, my original tune was the 10089 (aftermarket exhaust) and the cold running was quite poor.

I first put the 10115 tune in (for the 2002+ models) and it was like someone flipped a switch. Really neat.

I'm sure some customization could mean more power, but it works pretty well.

Thanks for the information. Guess I will pay the Stealership.

Now I know what to ask for. All I want is a more complying bike. I will keep her stock for now.

Thanks Again Josh.
I just called the Dealer and they might have that older tune still available for me although they have a newer that would have used.
I will just pay the money...It if satisfies this bike then its worth the $95.

had I known it would work that well, I would have done it when that 02 tune came out, not in 2007 when i finally broke down and bought Tuneboy.

as for throttle response, I take it back, it does improve the low end. It doesn't add 30 hp or anything, but its better.
